For over 2,000 years, the church has remained devoted tot he practice of breaking bread and remembering the gospel through the act of Communion. while we often associate this practice with rituals performed during church services, the original context of this meal wasn’t a formal service or one filled with background music—it took place during a simple, intimate meal similar to a Thanksgiving feast.
