Sacred Discomfort | The Secret Place

This Sunday, we’re doing something a little different. Our short-term missions team just returned from Uganda, and instead of a sermon, they’ll be sharing personal stories about how God met them in unexpected places—through simplicity, discomfort, and daily dependence. They’re not just telling stories from Africa—they’re inviting all of us to experience transformation here at home. God doesn’t only show up in the mountaintop moments, but in the mess, the mundane, and the things that make us uncomfortable. He calls us beyond what’s easy so we can see and love people like Jesus does.

God often does His deepest work not through constant activity but through waiting, surrender, and rest. Before there was witness, there was waiting; before there was power, there was surrender. This message challenges the church to enter the new year by waiting on the Lord, walking by the Spirit, and trusting that when Christ builds His church, He can do far more than we could ever imagine.
