There are two ways we can respond to God's will: with pride or humility. The Gibeonites give us a great example of what humility looks like and God blesses them because of it. The five Kings of the Amorites display pride resulting in destruction. Pride starts battles, but humility creates peace.

Is God good? If God is love, why is there so much death and destruction in the Old Testament? Is God different in the Old Testament than He is in the New Testament?
These are questions that often arise in our minds when we come across difficult passages like Joshua 7–8 with the conquest of Canaan and the stoning of Achan. In this sermon, associate pastor Jake Wright walks through the narratives in these two chapters of Joshua, looks at why God does what He does, and shares the hope of the gospel.
